Welcoming artists, photographers, writers, and other guests for more than a Century, Oakland House Seaside Resort is on the shore of East Penobscot Bay. The sun sets over Eggemoggin Reach, Pumpkin Island Lighthouse, East Penobscot Bay, and the distant Camden Hills.

The fifty-acre property includes a half-mile of shorefront, ocean and lake beaches, hiking trails, moorings and dock. Rowboats are available too. Shore Oaks Seaside Inn is a 10-bedroom inn just 75 feet from the ocean. Fifteen cottages are sprinkled along the shore and amongst the trees.

All inclusive rates vary depending on the room at Shore Oaks Seaside Inn, cottage, and workshop session. Five-day workshop lodging rates include full breakfasts, box lunches, and gourmet dinners. Jerry Monkman's Photography workshop includes a boat trip to an isolated island off shore. Meals will be served at Oakland House's Rusticator Restaurant. Included is a lobster picnic on the beach on Thursday evening. Instructor's fees are included in the rates. Ask the Oakland House office for all inclusive rates.

Centrally located on the Blue Hill Peninsula the region is famous for its historic coastal villages, architecture, working waterfront, art galleries, and abundant coastal wildlife. Unspoiled nature preserves are readily available to day-hikers, artists, and photographers and Acadia National Park is just an hour’s drive further downeast. Come a few days early or stay a few days later and enjoy them at your leisure.
